Recently refurbished in a delicate retro style, Bellamia is made up of three independent star-vaulted studios, with private bathroom and kitchenette. The three studios face a semi-covered yard that is ideal to keep our guests’ privacy and at the same time help socialing.
Bellamia is an unpretentious but refined B&B with the firm determination of offering a comfortable, well-organized residence, while favouring interpersonal interaction among guests. We are prepared to give first-hand advice about Salento and its culture, so that you can make the best of your holiday. Moreover, we provide local / hand-made products for both the “Bed” (bed linen and towels) and the “Breakfast” (baked produce and jams) parts.
Bellamia is in the heart of the old town in Gagliano del Capo, a quiet yet spirited village right at the end of the Apulia region: a perfect location, a few minutes away from the most beautiful blue sea in Salento and from the many splendours inland.
The landscape around Gagliano is intense and evocative, with its red earth, dry-stone walls, prickly pears and Mediterranean maquis. A few minutes away from the Bellamia, it is possible to hike a spectacular path leading to a small fiord called “il Ciolo”: a “cayon” overlooking the sea, made of steep, rocky walls with occasional grottoes surrounded by the typical scents and colours of the luxurious Mediterranean maquis.
Choosing the name: “Bella mia” (or “bello mio”) is a typical expression from Salento that is used to refer to friends and relatives with warmth and fondness. We would like the name of this B&B to mirror our intention to offer a friendly, respectfully informal service.
